You paste unpublished writing into this. That deserves a specific answer about where it goes, not a generic one.

The short version

Your document is sent to a third-party AI provider to be rewritten. That is the one place its text goes. It is not used to train anything, it is not sold, it is not shared with anyone else, and it is never written to a log. If you have an account, rewrites you choose to save are stored so you can come back to them, and you can delete any of it at any time.

What is collected

If you have an account: your email address, the rewrites you save, any Voice Profiles and the writing samples they were built from, a record of how much you have used, and your subscription status.

If you do not: nothing that identifies you is stored. Rewriting requires an account, so there is no unidentified use to meter; a one-way fingerprint of your network address is used only to rate-limit abusive traffic, and your address itself is never stored.

Either way: ordinary web server records — the page requested, the time, an address — held briefly by the host.

What is deliberately not collected

The text of your documents never reaches a log file. Logs carry counts, timings and error codes — enough to tell whether the system is working, and not enough to reconstruct anything you wrote.

There is no advertising, no analytics that follows you across other sites, and no third-party tracking scripts. Page views are counted, without cookies and without following anyone between sites — enough to know which pages people read, and not enough to know who read them. Your card details are entered on the payment processor’s own pages and are never seen by Timbro.

Who else sees it

Only the kinds of service below, each for one job. Adding a new category means changing this list. If you need the specific providers — for a vendor review, say — ask and we will tell you.

  • AI processing provider

Performs the rewrite itself. This is the one place document text goes.

Receives: The text you submit for rewriting, and writing samples used to build a Voice Profile.

  • Cloud database and hosting providers

Run the application and store your account.

Receives: Email address, saved rewrites, Voice Profiles and samples, usage records, subscription status.

  • Payment processor

Takes payment. Card details are entered on their pages and never reach Timbro.

Receives: Email address, billing and tax-location details, subscription and payment records.

  • Email delivery provider

Sends sign-in links and account email.

Receives: Email address and the contents of those messages.

Training

Nothing you submit is used to train or fine-tune any model, by Timbro or by anyone else. Text sent for rewriting is covered by commercial terms that do not permit training on it.

How long it is kept

Saved rewrites, Voice Profiles and samples stay until you delete them or delete your account. Usage records are kept while the account exists, because they are what your monthly usage is counted from.

Deleting your account removes your documents, samples and profiles with it. The billing record of what was charged stays, with your account detached from it, so the books remain correct — on its own it names no one, and only the payment processor can connect it back to a person. Records that processor must keep for tax and accounting reasons remain with them.

Your rights

You can see, correct, export or delete your data. Most of it you can do yourself from your account settings, including deleting the account outright. For anything else, or to object to how your data is handled, write to support@timbro.ai.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Security

Access to your data is restricted to your own account and enforced in more than one place, so a single mistake is not enough to expose anything. There are no share links and no public pages for your documents. Traffic is encrypted in transit.

No system is perfect. If something does go wrong that affects you, you will be told.

Children

Timbro is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what happens to your data, the date above changes and account holders are told by email before it takes effect.
