What you get, what you are agreeing to, and what Timbro does not claim. Written to be read rather than to be skipped.

What Timbro is
Timbro rewrites prose you already have into writing that reads more naturally. It does not write for you, does not research for you, and will not add a claim your draft did not make. You keep every right you had in the text you submit, and you own the rewrite.
What Timbro does not promise
Nothing about AI detectors. Timbro is not built to interact with detection or plagiarism tools, is not tested against them, and makes no claim about how any of them will score a document. Anyone telling you a rewriting tool guarantees a detector result is selling you something nobody can deliver.
It does not change any obligation you are under. If your school, employer, publisher or client requires you to disclose AI assistance, that requirement still applies to a document you put through Timbro. Following those rules is yours to do.
It is not perfect. Every rewrite is checked against your original and the failures it can name are repaired, but it is a check rather than a proof. Read the result before you use it. That is why your original is never overwritten and every rewrite arrives with a diff.
Your account
Rewriting requires an account, so you need an accurate email address, and you are responsible for what happens under yours. A new account gets 3 free rewrites — no card — and they are a one-time offer rather than a monthly one.
Do not use Timbro to process text you have no right to, to break the law, or to attack the service. Automated access beyond normal use of the site is not permitted. Accounts doing any of that can be suspended.
Plans and billing
Subscriptions are monthly or yearly, in advance, and renew automatically.
- Starter — $15 a month or $144 a year, for 110,000 characters and 35 rewrites a month.
- Pro — $29 a month or $276 a year, for 240,000 characters and 70 rewrites a month.
- Premium — $79 a month or $708 a year, for 620,000 characters and 180 rewrites a month.
Both limits apply. Usage counts the characters you send, and a rewrite that fails without producing anything does not count. Rewriting a single paragraph counts as one rewrite and also counts the surrounding text sent with it, since that text is part of what gets processed; building or rebuilding a Voice Profile likewise counts as one rewrite and counts the samples it reads. Your monthly usage resets at the start of each calendar month and does not roll over. Rewriting beyond the free trial requires an active subscription; an account without one keeps its saved rewrites and Voice Profiles, and can subscribe again at any time.
Payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are.
Cancelling and refunds
Cancel whenever you like from your account settings. You keep the plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and are not charged again.
If Timbro has not worked for you, write within 14 days of a charge and it will be refunded. If something is genuinely broken, that stands regardless of when you noticed.
Changes to prices and plans
Prices and plan limits can change. If they change on a plan you are on, you will be told by email at least 30 days beforehand, and the change applies from your next renewal — never to a period you have already paid for.
Availability
Timbro depends on services it does not run, and it can be interrupted. No guarantee of uptime is made. Where a fault is on this side and it materially cost you something you had paid for, ask and it will be put right.
Liability
Timbro is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Ending it
You can close your account at any time, and doing so deletes your documents, samples and profiles and cancels any active subscription immediately — the remainder of a period already paid for is not refunded, so cancel and let the period run out first if you would rather use it. Your account can be suspended for the reasons above; where that happens and you had paid for a period you could not use, that part is refunded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of United States.
